Once again a visit to the 'Dome'
on the 17th December 2000 wasn't without it's surprises - this strange 'horse'
and rider were scuttling around for some time, people didn't quite know how
to react to it as it looked quite threatening, but the comedy antics of the
rider amused - ovo02
At the time the only place you could get to
see the Blackadder film 'Back And Forth' was at exclusive showings at the
'Dome' cinema - this is a screenshot of 2 of the stars - Rowan Atkinson as
Blackadder (r) and Tony Robinson as Baldrick (l) - ovo10
Peter Gabriel
OVO
An illustration if one were needed of the skill
of the creators, designers and performers of the show, this really had to
be seen to be believed, something or someone was moving constantly
- ovo19
The red frame structure has been raised around
the tower in preperation for the colourful outer wrapping -
ovo21
Soon after the 'slave' workers finish the 'evil'
outer tower it is 'destroyed' in a fury of sound and light
- ovo23
The cloth has fallen to the ground, and in
this picture the red outer frame has partialy collapsed - smoke fills the
air - ovo24
Now restored to its original state the war
is over - the two opposing sides must now learn to live in peace; the lovers
meet atop the tower - ovo26
The lovers leap from the tower high into the
air and dance together; free to express their emotion for each other
- ovo27
Nature surrounds the now peaceful world, and
the story ends - ovo34
The pictures above were taken during my second
visit to The Millennium Dome, in time I will also feature extra items like
tickets and other accociated items from the event.
Peter Gabriel put his heart, soul - but most
of all his faith into OVO and The Millennium Dome - it was truly AN EVENT
- If you didn't visit you are in no position to judge. Even creating and editing
this page gave me goose-bumps :-)
